Safe Mold Remediation in a Health Unit--Tensas Parish
The drop-ceiling panel and the corner of the walls showing the rippled water damage indicated a serious mold problem also existed. A Health Unit in Tensas Parish required specific protocols for a safe and thorough mold remediation service. Our AMRT applied microbial remediation technicians donned PPE (personal protection equipment) for the controlled demolition. He cut the drywall away from the plywood backing with an oscillating drywall saw, fitted with a HEPA filtered collection sack. This tool cuts through drywall safely without damaging water pipes, wiring or conduits that may be concealed within the wall. Air scrubbers, also outfitted with HEPA filters, were placed in and around the contained work area to prevent the airborne debris from cross-contaminating unaffected rooms. The After Photo illustrates the work in progress. Our SERVPRO techs have treated the exposed building materials with a disinfectant and then encapsulated and sealed the restored areas with a white antimicrobial inhibiting coating. Count on SERVPRO of Monroe / West Monroe for commercial and residential mold remediation.
