Ruston Historic Home Flood Damage Restoration

As you might know, Ruston is home to several historic buildings. Recently one such building suffered a Category 4 water loss incident when a pipe ruptured in the attic space of the building, which subsequently flooded multiple rooms of the building on both of its floors. As the Before picture shows, the damage was widespread, leaving much of the original materials used in the construction of this building saturated and at high risk. One of our priorities was to work to preserve these materials, as these were original components to this historic structure.
 
As with any project that focuses so explicitly on salvaging original materials, this water damage restoration in Ruston demanded experience and specialized knowledge that you can expect from our SERVPRO certified technicians. Rebuilding and renovation would inevitably be a requirement for some areas too severely damaged to get saved, such as some walls, ceilings, insulation and more. One of the crowning achievements of our professionals was the ability to completely salvage the original hardwood flooring through slow, complete drying with constant monitoring of the moisture content. Our goal was to preserve the hardwood boards without splitting them from too rapid moisture removal.
 
Seven days later, the area in this Historic Ruston structure was finally ready for the next step of the restoration: rebuilding. Our SERVPRO professionals had spent these days removing walls, ceilings, and insulation to prepare these areas for new materials. Additionally, drying and dehumidification efforts persisted throughout this week to take care of the flooding damages and to remove any lingering moisture in cavities or materials.
 
The removal of construction materials can easily get seen between these Before and After photographs, but it also gives you an idea how widespread this damage was. Our focus now is to ensure that the reinstallation of new materials can match the original look and feel of the affected rooms. This Ruston traditional home might be office space today, but great care and gentle handling went into preserving the elements that make this property unique.
